Residents interested in learning about local candidates and their positions on various issues went to the Trusler Business Center for the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce’s latest Candidate Forum.
The ValuNet Smart Room was nearly packed with around 40 residents on hand for the conversation. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeanine McKenna was impressed with the turnout and audience engagement.
McKenna says the forum format has its benefits, as opposed to the debate format seen in national or high-profile state races.
Candidates participating in the forum included:
*Lyon County Commission First District candidates Ken Duft and Gregg Stair
*Kansas House 60th District candidates Mark Schreiber and Mic McGuire
*Kansas House 76th District candidates Eric Smith and Chuck Torres
