Development matters will headline the Emporia City Commission’s weekly action meeting Wednesday morning.
Commissioners may approve the implementation of an additional one percent community improvement district for the Emporia Land Development LLC Pavillions II development. If approved the CID would see the entire development would become subject to a two percent sales tax.
Commissioners may also approve an ordinance pertaining to the ownership of chickens within the Emporia city limits. Additional items up for consideration:
*KDOT CCLIP award for mill and overlay work on US Highway 50 from Graphic Arts to Prairie Street.
*Purchase of automated solid waste collections truck from Key Equipment for $354,439.
*Licensing agreement with 700 Block LLC for property located at 714 Commercial Street.
During their study session commissioners will receive a presentation of CodeRED a new mass notification system. The city’s purchasing policy and a time change for the commission’s Nov. 16 meeting will also be discussed.
The meeting begins at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
