The Emporia High football team had its season come to a close Thursday night to Blue Valley Southwest Thursday night in Overland Park, 56-20.
The Timberwolves scored the first 14 points of the game before Fred Jackson’s 28-yard touchdown run cut the deficit to 14-7 with 3:41 left in the second quarter.
After that, it was all Blue Valley Southwest as it scored the next 28 points to lead 42-7 at the end of three quarters.
Bobby Trujillo added a 3-yard touchdown run with 11:57 remaining.
The Timberwolves added two more touchdowns to go up 56-13. Jackson’s 4-yard touchdown run with 7:20 left closed out the scoring.
Jackson threw for 168 yards and had 87 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Parker Leeds was Jackson’s top target with four catches for 82 yards.
Emporia High finishes the season with a 2-8 record.
