Typically, court arraignment leads to the scheduling of potential trial dates. In the case of Terry Don Cummings, arraignment Tuesday led to a preliminary hearing instead.
Cummings is charged with drug possession in what has been listed as Lyon County’s first fentanyl distribution case. Preliminary hearings are normally held before arraignments, but after missing two prelim dates earlier this year due to incarceration in Shawnee County, Cummings was set for a prelim at 3 pm Dec. 13 before Judge Lee Fowler. No trial dates are listed on the state’s online court portal.
Cummings was arrested early this year after a traffic stop on the Kansas Turnpike, allegedly with around 200 counterfeit oxycontin pills in his possession.
