An Emporia man is facing charges of drug and weapons possession in Osage County.
According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop near Interstate 35 milepost 165, nearly 40 miles northeast of Emporia, just before 10 pm Tuesday night. During the stop, illegal narcotics were allegedly located inside of a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Nathan Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was arrested and taken to the Osage County Jail Facility on suspicion of several charges including possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal use of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
Formal charges are currently pending. Rodriguez is still being held at the Osage County Jail as of last word.
