Members of the community brought a lot of toys to help support the annual toy drive of a northwest Emporia neighborhood in benefit of the Salvation Army and SOS Inc. Saturday evening.
This is the 39th toy drive that neighbors around Delane Drive, Darlene Way, Diane Avenue, Hillcrest Drive, and also Arrowhead Drive do. Organizer Marlo Walburn says that the lights neighbors decorate their houses with are important because it helps bring the attention of the community and motivate them to support their drive.
Volunteer and member of the neighborhood Anita Baumer say the community has been so given over the years with the different toys they bring for the kids.
All the toys recollected during the drive will go to the Salvation Army and the monetary donations will go to support SOS Inc.
Donation totals are still pending.
