The Emporia High basketball teams continue their pre-Christmas schedule by hosting Shawnee Mission North Tuesday night.
It’ll be the first doubleheader the Spartans will hold at Spartan Gymnasium. Both teams are 4-0 after sweeping the Paul Terry Classic championships last weekend.
The Lady Spartans are coming off an overtime win over Spring Hill. Coach Carolyn Dorsey says the Lady Spartans need to continue to improve defensively.
Junior Addie Kirmer says it’ll be exciting to play in their home gym for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, the Spartans defeated Wichita Trinity on Saturday and are rested heading into Tuesday’s game. Coach Lee Baldwin says they need to continue to do what they’ve done early this season.
Senior Fred Jackson says they need to be ready to defend another opponent who has some height.
