Dry conditions continue across the KVOE listening area.
In fact, the US Drought Monitor’s weekly update map is virtually unchanged from the weekly maps over the past month. Moderate drought remains firmly in place for all of Lyon, Chase and Osage counties, as well as northwest Coffey, southeast Morris and southeast Wabaunsee counties. Most of Coffey County is in severe drought. Greenwood County still ranges from moderate to exceptional drought north to south.
Snowfall totals of up to 2 inches Thursday probably won’t impact the map for next week — especially because the next seven days look to be dry and breezy.
