What started as an attempted traffic stop in Greenwood County on New Year’s Eve turned into a high-speed chase into two neighboring counties and three arrests, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies tried the traffic stop at an unspecified location along US Highway 400, but the driver allegedly fled through Fall River into Elk County and later into Wilson County, where three people fled the scene on foot. All three were arrested:
*Brandon Bennett was arrested on suspicion of felony flee and elude, felony interference with law enforcement, felony theft, methamphetamine distribution and several drug possession-related and traffic-related offenses.
*Robert Walker was arrested on suspicion of meth, marijuana and paraphernalia possession and felony interference with law enforcement.
*Elizabeth Rodriquex was arrested on suspicion of meth possession and felony interference with law enforcement.
Formal charges are pending against all three suspects.
