Lyon County District Court will be busy Friday afternoon as three criminal cases of note are set to move forward.
A pretrial hearing for Matthew Schroeder is at 2 pm before Judge Jeff Larson. The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal indicates prosecution motions may be heard to endorse additional witnesses and to prepare an additional transcript.
Schroeder is accused of attempted first-degree murder with an alternate count of aggravated domestic battery. He’s also accused of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and criminal restraint after allegedly trying to kill a woman in mid-October.
Meanwhile, a woman accused in Lyon County District Court of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and other charges is set for a pretrial and arraignment hearing Friday.
The pretrial at 2 pm for Amanda Renee Alvarado follows an alleged incident in early October. Alvarado allegedly entered a shop building in the 1900 block of Road J and threatened Troy Amos with a pistol.
Besides aggravated burglary and aggravated assault, Alvarado is also charged with single counts of criminal possession of a weapon by a felon and criminal damage.
Judge Jeff Larson will preside over Friday’s hearing.
Also, a woman accused in Lyon County District Court of aggravated violations of the state’s offender registration act is now set for pretrial and arraignment Friday.
Latasha Ghramm is formally accused with three counts of aggravated violations and one count of a registration violation. She’s accused of failing to report her registration information to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office between March and August 2021, September 2021 and this past February, March and August 2022 and September 2022.
The pretrial is at 2 pm before Judge Jeff Larson.
Ghramm was convicted in 2012 of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
