The #24 ranked Emporia State men’s basketball team extended their winning streak to 5 in a row with a 72-59 win over Nebraska Kearney.
The Hornets never trailed. The biggest lead was by 21 points in the 2nd half after a 22-7 run. Emporia State Coach Craig Doty.
Alijah Comithier scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Hornets in scoring.
Owen Long finished with 15 points.
The Emporia State men improve to 15-3 for the season and 9-3 in the MIAA.
Nebraska Kearney won the women’s game 85-54. Kearney took control of the game outscoring the Lady Hornets 25-11 in the 2nd quarter. Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn says they are not playing well.
Tre’Zure Jobe was the leading scorer for Emporia State finishing with 21 points. Ehlaina Hartman finished with 13 points. The Lady Hornets are now 9-9 for the season and 4-8 in the MIAA.
Emporia State hosts Fort Hays State Sunday afternoon.
