Kansas Free for Arts launched its Winter Concert Series with a pair of artists at the Emporia Arts Center on Friday night.
Dance Monkey Dance and John Depew were the featured acts. It was the first winter concert for Kansas Free for Arts since early 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic. It was also the first time Kansas Free for Arts had partnered with the Arts Center for a concert.
While the winter concerts are getting rolling, Kansas Free for Arts Director Hank Osterhout is working on other concerts — including a return of That 1 Guy in June.
And — yes — there is work ongoing for the 2023 Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival in early September.
Up next in the concert series are Possessed by Paul James and Filthy Frank. They will perform Feb. 18 at the Lyon County History Center.
