The higher seeds were winners on day one of the 102nd Lyon County League basketball tournament Monday.
In girls’ play, #2 seed Olpe defeated Waverly 77-29, and #3 seed Madison defeated Southern Coffey County 62-21.
In boys’ play, #2 seed Burlingame defeated Marais des Cgynes Valley 70-19, and #3 seed Lebo outscored Hartford 64-36.
4 more first-round games will be played Tuesday beginning at 4 pm with the Burlingame girls playing Marais des Cygnes Valley.
At 5:30 Waverly boys play Madison.
At 7 pm Girls #1 seed Lebo plays Hartford.
In the late game Boys #1 seed Olpe plays Southern Coffey County.
