The Emporia High girls basketball team fell in the Glacier’s Edge Tournament Championship game to Topeka-Seaman, 46-43.
Emporia High had trailed by 11 in the fourth quarter and managed to tie the game at 43. Seaman got a 3-pointer by Taylin Stallbaumer at the buzzer to win it.
The Lady Spartans trailed 7-5 at the end of the first quarter and led 20-18 at halftime. Emporia High trailed 36-28 heading to the fourth.
Coach Carolyn Dorsey says it was a great tournament for the Lady Spartans to learn from.
Rebecca Snyder led Emporia High with 17 points.
The Emporia High girls are now 12-2 on the season. Up next for the Lady Spartans is at Washburn Rural on Friday.
Other games from the final day of the Glacier’s Edge Tournament. Derby defeated Wichita Heights 50-33 for third place. Shawnee Mission West defeated Blue Valley Southwest 57-39 for fifth place. Maize defeated Shawnee Mission East 47-41 for seventh place.
