The Emporia State baseball team is scheduled to open its season Friday.
They are slated to play Oklahoma Baptist in the Edmond First pitch tournament hosted by Central Oklahoma.
Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler says this year’s version of the Hornets will be young.
One of the returnees is Senior outfielder and pitcher Noah Geekie.
The Hornets are also scheduled to play Northern State on Saturday and Southwestern Oklahoma State on Sunday.
