The Emporia High boys swim and dive team finished fifth place in the Centennial League meet in Topeka Thursday.
Manhattan was the league champion, followed by Washburn Rural, Topeka High and Hayden.
In diving, Alex Allemang finished in second place with a score of 318.40.
The 200-medley relay team of Landon Bird, Broden Poderbarac, Shane Anderson and Ian Navarro finished fifth with a time of 2:10.80
Logan Woydziak was fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and seventh in the 100-yard freestyle. His time in the 50 free was 23.59, which is .2 away from an automatic time for state. He finished the 100 free in 55.23
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Logan Woydziak, Ian Navarro, Tyler Luthi and Will Walker finished fifth with a time of 3:48.90.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Logan Woydziak, Shane Anderson, Tyler Luthi and Will Walker finished sixth with a new personal best time of 1:39.65.
Alex Allemang and Logan Woydziak were named second-team All-Centennial League picks. Will Walker, Tyler Luthi and Shane Anderson were named honorable mention All-Centennial League selections.
Up next the Spartans will find out if any of their consideration times make it to next week’s state meet which will be held at the Shawnee Mission District Aquatic Center.
