Trial is now the next step in an alleged shooting incident in Chase County last spring — and it’s set to begin next week.
Eric Joseph McClure was set for trial to begin Feb. 22 as part of his final pretrial hearing this week. Trial in Cottonwood Falls could last three days. Judge Laura Miser will preside.
McClure is charged with aggravated battery and criminal use of a weapon after he allegedly shot at an SUV traveling from Emporia towards McPherson on Kansas Highway 150 in mid-May of last year. The driver of the vehicle, Erik Reyes of Emporia, was wounded but survived.
