One person was hospitalized and another was treated on site after a pair of wrecks in west Emporia on Saturday morning.
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire responded to 15th and Industrial shortly after 10 am following a two-vehicle wreck. As they responded, the second wreck happened.
Police Officer Lane Doty tells KVOE News the first wreck happened when one vehicle left the parking lot at Flinthills Mall and was hit by a northbound vehicle. The second wreck developed when one person was helping somebody hurt in the first crash, only to have his vehicle rear-ended.
The person hurt in the first crash, a woman, was taken to Newman Regional Health. A person reporting possible injuries as part of the second crash was treated at the scene and declined further treatment.
