The Emporia High boys wrestling team qualified six wrestlers for the state tournament on Friday at Andover.
Saturday’s action at regionals determined placing for seeding for the state tournament.
Xerarch Tungjaroenkul won the regional championship at 150 pounds with a 5-1 decision over Maize’s Clayton Bowers.
Josiah Bradley finished third at 285. In the third-place match, he defeated Hutchinson’s Camden Jensen, 7-4.
Lukas Hainline finished fifth at 138. He defeated Cooper Boone of Valley Center by fall in 40 seconds.
Christian Trujillo finished fifth at 157. He defeated Hays’ Dalton Meyers, 1-0.
Davian White took seventh at 165, while Jesse Ultereas finished eighth at 175.
As a team, Emporia High finished in 10th place.
The Class 5A state tournament will begin on Friday at Hartman Arena in Park City. We’ll have coverage of all matches from the state tournament on KVOE.
