The Emporia High bowling teams are heading to state.
Both the Lady Spartans and Spartans finished third in the Topeka-Seaman Regional Tuesday.
The Emporia High boys recorded a series of 3,329, edging out Topeka West for the final state spot. Seaman was the regional champion while DeSoto was the regional runner-up.
Nate Green claimed the individual regional championship by bowling a 717 series.
The Emporia High girls recorded a series of 2,675 finishing behind Seaman and Topeka West.
Olivia Boettcher led the Lady Spartans with a third-place finish with a 572 series. Brittany Mohling finished 18th with a 465 series.
State will be held next Thursday at Northrock Lanes in Wichita. The girls will bowl at 8:50 a.m. with the boys to start at 1:40 p.m.
