Formal charges are pending after an alleged foot chase in Emporia this past weekend.
Police Capt. Lisa Hayes says 27-year-old Gustavo Lopez, hometown not listed, was arrested on suspicion of four counts of battery on law enforcement, three counts of interference with law enforcement, battery on hospital staff, numerous traffic infractions and unspecified illegal drug activity.
The arrest of Lopez happened after officers say they received a reckless driver call late Saturday night. Officers say they were in the process of beginning a traffic stop in the 500 block of Albert when Lopez left his vehicle and fled briefly on foot. Officers say they used a Taser on Lopez before he was arrested.
