The first vehicle tag deadline of the year is coming soon for Lyon County drivers.
County Treasurer Sharon Gaede says the deadline is Tuesday, affecting residents with last names beginning with the letter “A.” It also affects drivers of heavy trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles.
Residents need to have a valid Kansas ID and current proof of insurance to complete all state processes. Residents are also encouraged to use the QLess system to reserve their places in line before going to the Lyon County Courthouse or while in the building.
Hours in the Motor Vehicle Office are 8 am to 4:30 pm weekdays.
