Community members are invited to a special combination blood drive and highlight event at Newman Regional Health next week.
The hospital will be teaming with the American Red Cross to host the blood drive beginning at 11 am until 5:30 pm Wednesday. The blood drive will continue Thursday from 8 am to 2 pm.
Also Wednesday, Newman will be holding a special “media event” to highlight LifeSave Transport which has been approved to transport blood in flight to patients in need. LifeSave is the only agency approved by the American Red Cross to hold this distinction.
The event will take place at 10:30 am Wednesday at the hospital’s helipad and will also feature representatives of local law enforcement, firefighters and EMTs.
