Music is often a form of celebration.
Emporia’s Saint David’s Day concert took place in the Emporia Presbyterian Church and featured a wide selection of music and literature, ranging from a harp solo to a choir.
St. David’s Day is a Welsh holiday in celebration of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales. The day is typically recognized through music, poetry, food, and traditional symbols such as daffodils.
Guest director Eluned Jones says that music has been a vital part of Welsh culture for people of both the past and present.
