For the first time in two seasons, the Olpe girls basketball team is heading back to state.
The last time the Lady Eagles were at state was in 2021 when they won the Class 1A-Division I State Championship in Dodge City.
Olpe is the seventh-seed and will take on Quinter in its first-round game Wednesday evening.
Olpe girls coach Ron Slaymaker says the Lady Eagles’ defense will be key if they want to upset Quinter.
Game time is 6 p.m. at United Wireless Arena. You can listen to the game on Country 101.7 FM with coverage beginning at 5:40 p.m.
