A traffic stop in northeast Osage County led to the arrest of a Burlingame man on suspicion of illegal drug activity.
Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells says the traffic happened shortly before 4 pm Monday at 113th and Topeka in Carbondale for an alleged traffic violation. Robert Smith, age 53, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine with intent to distrubute and possessing paraphernalia, as well as driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
Formal charges are currently pending.
