Kansas will not be repeating as National Champions, the Jayhawks were upset by Arkansas 72-71 in the 2nd round of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament Saturday.
Kansas held a 35-27 lead at halftime but were outscored 45-36 in the second half. Arkansas would outscore Kansas 31-20 in the final 12 minutes of play. Arkansas used an 11-0 run to overcome a 10-point deficit.
Assistant Coach Norm Roberts said Arkansas played well in the 2nd half.
Jalen Wilson led Kansas in scoring with 20 points.
K.J. Adams finished with 14 points, Kevin McCullar added 13 points and Dajuan Harris scored 12 points.
The Jayhawks finish their season with a 28 and 8 record.
