One person was taken to Newman Regional Health after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday evening.
The accident was reported around 5 p.m. at the intersection of 15th Ave. and Sunnyslope. According to Emporia Police Sgt. Dominick Vortherms, a 2013 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on 15th Ave.
At the same time, a 2022 Hyundai Tuscon was north on Sunnyslope was stopped at the stop sign. The Explorer turned south onto Sunnyslope and collided with the Tuscon.
Both vehicles were damaged, but the severity of the damage is unknown.
The driver of the Explorer was taken to Newman Regional Health with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Tuscon was not transported. The driver of the Explorer was cited but Vortherms could not disclose on what the citation was.
