The Friends of the Emporia Public Library are off and running with their latest book sale for the local community.
The 2023 Spring Book Sale kicked off Saturday morning at 618 Mechanic Street and there were plenty of literature lovers making their way through the stacks. Friends President Marcia Lawrence says ever since the group moved the sale to its new location on Mechanic, the former Arts Center building, the process has been much smoother both for the group and the local community.
As always, proceeds from the book sale will go to fund a number of projects and initiatives at the Emporia Public Library throughout the year. The book sale will continue now through Thursday, and Lawrence says there is the possibility of additional sales events later this year.
Hours for the book sale are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bag sales will begin Monday and Tuesday with all items costing $10 per bag. $5 bag sales will take place Wednesday, and $2 bag sales will close down the event Thursday.
