The National Weather Service says National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration transmitters across its coverage area, including those serving Lyon and most surrounding counties, now have service restored.
Service issues were reported after 9 pm Tuesday after what the NWS Topeka office called communications or hardware failures.
The outages affected transmitters at Hall’s Summit, Topeka, Abilene and Concordia.
5:45 am Wednesday: NOAA transmitters serving much of KVOE listening area offline
Several weather radio transmitters affecting parts of the KVOE listening area are currently offline due to communications or hardware failures.
The KGG-98 transmitter at Halls Summit, which operates on channel 2 or at 162.425 megahertz and serves Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties, as well as the WXK-91 transmitter at Topeka (channel 4 at 162.475 MHz) and the WXL-71 transmitter at Abilene (channel 6 at 162.525 MHz) are all affected.
The National Weather Service says it will have service restored as soon as possible.
