The Emporia High boys tennis team finished sixth in its home tournament Thursday.
Mats Goerres finished 6th in singles play.
The doubles team of Carlos Bautista and Joaquin Miranda finished 12th.
Coach Saul Trujillo says the Spartans’ new players to tennis are still trying to get a feel of playing in a tournament.
Up next for Emporia High is its third home tournament of the week on Saturday. Matches begin at 9 a.m.
