More restaurant changes are coming to Kansas Turnpike service areas, including one in the KVOE listening area.
The Turnpike Authority says the Matfield Green service area, served by Hardee’s and Dunkin Donuts for several years, will change to a Subway and Dairy Queen. The restaurant at mile marker 97, 30 miles southwest of the Emporia tollgate, will close late April 14 to begin the remodeling process.
This follows the change announced early this month and currently underway at the Emporia service area at mile marker 132, five miles northeast of the Emporia gate. Subway and Taco John’s are replacing the McDonalds, which had been at the location for years. The drive-thru for these two restaurants will open by early May, with walk-in restaurant access returning by early June.
