Emporia Spartan Boxing will have a pair of competitors in action Saturday afternoon.
Junior Robles and Mercedes Silvey will compete at the Kansas and Oklahoma Golden Gloves Regional Tournament at the Sandhills Event Center in Hutchinson. Silvey is the reigning Golden Gloves state champion and is currently riding a two-bout win streak.
With a victory, Robles will advance to the Golden Gloves National Tournament to be held May 5-6 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Robles won the regional championship in 2022 and claimed fight of the night honors in the process.
Bouts will begin at 4 pm.
