Flint Hills Mall was jampacked full of local families taking part in the 24th annual Newman Regional Health Teddy Bear Clinic Saturday.
Representatives of Newman were joined by multiple community agencies for the event. Newman Events Coordinator Michelle Margeson says she was excited to see so many community partners come out and be involved in the event.
Aside from giving their stuffed animals a proper check-up, Margeson says the Teddy Bear clinic provides another important service to younger residents.
Margeson says if left unaddressed anxiety can carry over from childhood to adulthood. She says this often leads to a pattern in residents that will prevent them from seeking proper medical attention until it is far too late.
