The Emporia High girls soccer team tied with Wichita Southeast Monday at Emporia High 1-1.
Emporia High was down 1-0 at halftime until the 78th minute when Emeil Bennett scored on a penalty kick.
The Lady Spartans had their opportunities in both 10-minute overtime periods but could not find the back of the net.
Coach Oscar Macias liked how his team responded giving them an opportunity to win the game.
The Lady Spartans are now 1-4-1 on the season. Up next is a trip to Chanute on Thursday.
