The Emporia State men’s and women’s tennis teams were defeated by nationally-ranked Northwest Missouri State Tuesday.
The Emporia State men were defeated by the number 12-ranked Bearcats 4-0. Northwest won all 3 doubles matches and won 1,2 and 3 singles before the rest of the match was halted due to lightning.
The Emporia State women were defeated by 14th-ranked Northwest 5-0.
Northwest won 1 and 2 doubles to win the doubles point.
Emporia States number 3 doubles team of Caroline Henry and Andrea Santiago won at number 3 doubles 7-5. Northwest won at 1, 2, 3, and 5 singles before the other matches were halted due to weather.
Both the Emporia State men and women are scheduled to host Newman Thursday afternoon.
