For the first time in two years KVOE welcomed the working women of Emporia to White Auditorium Thursday night.
Hundreds of women filed into the auditorium for the 39th annual Working Women’s After Hours. This was the first event held in person since the COVID-19 pandemic and KVOE General Manager Ron Thomas says he was extremely pleased with the turnout.
In addition to the working women of Emporia, the event also welcomed a variety of vendors from the community who offered samples of services, food and drink. The event also featured a fashion show and concluded with the drawing of prizes attendees registered for throughout the evening.
Taking home the grand prize was Joyce Sweetman. Funny enough, Sweetman was not the first person to be announced as the grand prize winner as three other names were drawn ahead of her, however, those individuals were not in attendance to claim the prize.
Sweetman says sometimes it just pays to be lucky.
For her grand prize, Sweetman received a highland 28 jet three-person home spa jacuzzi First Start Pool and Patio valued at over $8,500.
