Emporia Police officers say a juvenile has been arrested after allegedly leading a short foot chase Friday evening.
Officers say they responded to a reported shoplifting incident at Country Mart, 1020 Merchant. Officers also say the juvenile matched the suspect description as provided, but the juvenile ran north on foot from around 12th and Merchant onto the Emporia State University campus around 8:10 pm. Officers gave chase and captured the suspect soon after the chase began.
Officers are not releasing the suspect’s name. Formal charges are pending.
