On day two of the 100th KU Relays, both Emporia State and Emporia High athletes earned top 10 finishes.
Emporia State had 5 events qualify for Saturday finals and had 7 top-10 finishes.
Abigael Reid qualified for the finals in the 400 hurdles. She had the 2nd fastest time in the prelims.
Chase Rooney qualified for the finals in the men’s 400 hurdles. He had the 9th fastest prelim time.
Jasmin Hurla qualified for the finals in the 400-meter dash. She had the 4th fastest time in the prelims.
The women’s 4 by 100 relay and men’s 4 by 100 relay qualified for the finals.
The men’s distance Medley relay team of Luke Gleason, Jake Johnson, Brice Helton, and Tyler Swift finished in 3rd place.
Megan McManis tied for 4th place in the pole vault.
Holly Brockmeier finished 5th and Bonnie Romig finished 7th in the Javelin.
Emma Seidl finished 6th in the shot put.
Zach Sulzen-Watson finished 9th in the discus
Mason Bina finished 10th in the 800-meter run.
For Emporia High, Sofia Ruvelcaba finished 5th and Micah Shefy-Harris finished 8th in the 2000-meter steeplechase.
Both the boys’ and girls’ 4×400 relays will be competing Saturday.
