The Emporia State softball team split a doubleheader with Missouri Southern Saturday.
Emporia State won the first game 6-5. The Lady Hornets scored 5 of the runs in the 3rd inning. Ari Cordova drove in 2 runs with a double. Sophia Rockhold drove in 2 runs with a single.
Southern scored 2 runs in the 7th inning and left the tying run on base.
Missouri Southern won the 2nd game 10-2. Emporia State scored their 2 runs on a pass ball and an error.
Southern ended the game with a 4-run 6th inning.
With the split Emporia State is now 29-17 for the season and 9 and 9 in the MIAA.
They are scheduled to host Newman Tuesday in their final home doubleheader.
