Flint Hills Technical College’s annual Night of Inspiration Gala is Friday, but the fundraising is officially underway as we speak.
The silent auction has gone live and will be available online all week. Click here for the link.
Vice President for Advancement Mike Crouch says this is an important showcase for the college. It’s also important from an operational standpoint.
The gala begins at 6 pm Friday at White Auditorium, featuring a meal from the college’s Culinary Arts Department, recognition of distinguished alums and a live auction — including items made by college students.
Just a few seats remain, so residents wanting to attend need to call the college at 620-341-1380. All proceeds fund scholarships and student crisis relief efforts through the Wrangler Relief Fund.
The gala comes as the college and its students continues to gain honors. Julia Zinke and Ava Kemmerle participated in the Skills USA culinary competition, with Zinke receiving a gold medal and Kemmerle receiving a bronze. Flint Hills Technical College was also recently recognized by the American College Application Campaign as a School of Excellence for collaborations and partnerships. The college also received word all the nursing students who took the National Council Licensure Examination, or NCLEX (N-klex) test for the first time, passed the exam.
This also comes as the college is getting ready for spring commencement and the semester nurse pinning ceremonies May 20.
