Thunderstorm activity is possible early Tuesday and should not be severe. Storms Wednesday evening might be.
The Storm Prediction Center has all area counties in a slight severe weather risk, mainly for “efficient large hail producers.” Other severe weather hazards can’t be ruled out.
The National Weather Service Topeka office is expecting possible storms from 8 pm Wednesday to 2 am Thursday.
More rain chances follow for the rest of the work week, including showers and embedded storms Thursday and showers Friday. Temperatures for the second half of the work week will be noticeably cooler. After highs in the upper 70s to low 80s Monday through Wednesday, temperatures will peak in the 60s Thursday and Friday — with highs in the 50s Saturday.
