Emporia State scored 1st on a solo home run by Kadyn Williams to lead off the bottom of the 1st inning.
Missouri Western scored 2 runs in the 4th inning to take a 2-1 lead.
Emporia State retook the lead with 2 runs in the 5th inning on a Brenden Tauber sacrifice bunt and Kadyn Williams single.
Missouri Western retook the lead scoring 2 runs in the 8 inning.
Emporia State Coach Seth Wheeler was pleased with the efforts of the 3 pitchers used, Graham Brunner, Braden Meek, and Will Hann. They combined to give up 4 runs on 10 hits with 4 strikeouts and no walks.
It was the 10th 1-run game in MIAA play for Emporia State and the 8th 1-run loss.
Emporia State and Missouri Western wrap up their 3-game series Sunday afternoon with the first pitch at 1 pm at Glennen Field at the Trusler Sports Complex.
