Nearly six months ago, the Lyon County Game Warden’s Office began investigating the first of what became two deer poaching incidents.
Unfortunately, Game Warden Aaron Scheve says the trail has run cold on both incidents.
The first incident involved a deer shot near Road 70 and X outside Hartford on Nov. 6. The second took place near Roads 170 and T less than two weeks later. Scheve says the second incident apparently involved the hunter using a high-powered rifle shooting in the direction of Interstate 35 with vehicles on the highway at the time of the incident.
No suspect information has been divulged with either incident. If you have information about either case, call Scheve at 620-431-9873. Poaching penalties can range from fines and restitution to gun forfeiture and revocation of hunting privileges for years if convicted.
