Emporia State athletics handed out their end-of-year awards Monday night with the “Corkys”.
This year’s Student-Athletes of the Year are Football player Jaedon Pool and Soccer player McKenzie Dimarco. Dimarco earned the honor for the 2nd year in a row.
The Undergraduate Award of Excellence was awarded to Soccer player Hannah Woolery and Basketball player Owen Long.
The Kent Weiser Hornet Legacy Award was awarded to Soccer and Track and Field Athlete Erica Self.
The Joe Cannon Award which goes to someone outside the Athletic Department that has been an exceptional fan, supporter, and contributor to the success of Hornet Athletics was awarded to Trip Shannon a former Emporia State football player who after a successful business career began volunteering his time talent and treasure to Emporia State, the Athletic Department and the football program.
The John Baxter Award went to Donovan Heard.
Over 40 seniors were also recognized last night.
