Salaries and compensation will be the main area of focus for Emporia City Commissioners when they convene for their regular action and study meetings Wednesday.
As part of their action agenda commissioners will consider approving the 2023 compensation plan following the presentation of a recent salary study from the Arnold Group in late April. The minimum annual impact of adopting the compensation plan scales would be $772,497.92.
Additional action items to be considered include a selection of architect services for fire station improvements, an application to the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation for an emergency solutions grant, a memorandum of understanding between the city and Healthier Lyon County and the appointment of members to the golf advisory board and Emporia Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. During their regular study meeting commissioners will review solution options for the city’s salary compression.
The meetings will begin at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
