The Emporia State softball team opens MIAA Tournament play today. They will be playing number 2-seeded Missouri Southern, a team they split the season doubleheader with.
The Lady Hornets finished April with a 14-8 record. Emporia State Coach April Rosales says it has been a fun ride and they are going into the tournament playing their best softball.
Sophomore pitcher Gracie Rabe says the win over Southern during the season does give them confidence.
Senior Shortstop Abby Ward says this is one of their favorite times of the season.
The other MIAA first-round games have number 1 seed Central Oklahoma playing Fort Hays State.
Central Missouri plays Washburn.
Rogers State plays Missouri Western.
The MIAA Tournament will be played at theĀ Envista Complex at Lake Shawnee in Topeka.
