Lyon County commissioners have infrastructure matters and an equipment purchase ahead when they meet in action session Thursday.
Commissioners will consider a better than $30,000 quote from Nortex Concrete Lift and Stabilization to use high-density polyurethane foam to both lift and stabilize the approaches to the Road 175 bridge over the Neosho River. Commissioners could also give directions to County Engineer Chip Woods for potential grading to the track crossing at Road G west of Emporia.
Separately, commissioners will look at the purchase of a drone and related training sessions for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. If approved, the drone would be used for search and rescue operations, suspect apprehension and incident scene investigations.
Three executive sessions are part of the agenda as well.
The meeting starts at 9 am at the County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
