Over two weeks after a handful of small tornadoes caused scattered damage across Chase County, USDA Rural Development Director used an appearance on KVOE’s Morning Show to encourage affected residents to reach out and see what kinds of federal help may be available.
Davis says there is help available for homeowners, landowners and business owners alike, even though there is no federal disaster declaration currently in place.
Eight tornadoes were produced by the same thunderstorm April 19, with three briefly on the ground at the same time. Davis thanked the Farm Service Agency and Chase County officials, including Sheriff Jacob Welsh and Emergency Management Director Scott Wiltse, for their work.
