A man accused of several charges including attempted first-degree murder will be back in court later this month.
Rafael Castaneda appeared for a preliminary hearing inside Lyon County District Court Friday morning. Following the hearing, Castaneda was set for an additional preliminary hearing at 1:15 pm May, 30.
Castaneda is facing seven total charges including attempted first-degree murder with an alternate of attempted voluntary manslaughter, as well as aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal damage.
Castaneda is accused of trying to kill Orlando Cortez during an incident in the 10 block of Market in early February. Judge Jeff Larson is presiding over the case.
